2WIRE (info for Nintendo DS systems)
Router models included here:
- 2700HG-E
- 1701HG
- other 2WIRE routers (models not specified)
2700HG-E
Question: I have got into the settings and changed to channel 11 - I have WEP-Open with Encryption as WEP - I'm still getting Error Code 52032
Resolution: Changing the WEP security from WEP-Open to WEP-Shared should work. Keep in mind that when you change this setting, you will need to reset the WEP security on all other wireless devices that connect to your 2Wire router.
1701HG
Question: My 2wire router is a 1701hg wireless router and every time I try to go online with my DS (I'm about 2ft from the router) I can’t connect and I get this Error Code: 51301
Resolution: You need to switch your WEP Authentication to "Shared."

Question: I currently have two Wii console's in my apartment - One being mine and the other my friend's. I ran into an issue though and it appears only one Wii console can connect successfully at a time because if I connect them both the connection on online games such as Brawl will time out causing a disconnection. I have looked at the various pages on this site for information regarding this, but haven't found much information at this time.
Resolution: Just wanted to give an update on this situation. I have now resolved the issue by changing the wireless speed settings from 52Mbps to 24Mbps and now both systems will connect online successfully. In addition, I also changed my other settings to G/B Mixed instead of wireless G as this was also conflicting with my online gaming.
Question: I have been try for so long to connect my Nintendo DS to my new router (2Wire) and it is making me so mad. I have been trying to play Mario Kart Ds, and it says error code 51300
Resolution: You will need the change the WEP authentication type from "open" to "shared", but will then need to change any other wireless device that uses that access point to "shared".
Question: My access point, which is a 2Wire, RARELY shows up when I search for an access point. I was really lucky when I was online for 10 minutes last week. The thing is, it doesn't have a bad range. It has two bars, a green status. It doesn't make sense to me, since it shows up only occasionally and not all the time. My router is always connected to the internet.
Resolution: I would recommend changing the channel the router is broadcasting on. I would try channel 1 and if that doesn’t work, trying channel 11.
Whoa, I've switched it and it's showing up all the time and I haven’t been kicked off yet. Thanks!
Question: The router is 2Wire and it's WEP protected. When I search for an access point it says the access point's security settings are not supported by the DS. When I try to connect through manual setup I get the 51300 error code. Any help?
Resolution: I suggest changing your WEP key to the "shared" option. The DS has a hard time connecting to 2wire routers unless the WEP is shared. Also continue trying the manual setup.
Question: So a few days ago my Wii stopped working for my router. When I try to connect to it after inputting the WEP key, it keeps giving me the error code 51330, 51331, and 51332; it also does this when I manually input all of the settings.
Resolution: Try disabling the WEP key, if the system connects, then try enabling security again. You may also wish to reset your 2WIRE modem/router by holding the reset button the back for up to 10 seconds. My friend has had a problem similar to this with his PCs not connecting wirelessly and upon doing this, the problem was resolved. Also, unplugging and plugging the 2WIRE system after 10 seconds have passed may resolve the issue too. In addition, I would strongly suggest using WPA encryption as it is harder to hack than WEP.
Question: I recently got a new 2Wire router. I had another 2Wire router before, but it recently stopped working. I had all of my settings set up correctly and I was able to get online on my DS, but now those settings don't work and I don't know what to enter in for the manual settings. I have the SSID and the WEP key entered, but I still can't get a connection.
Resolution: You need to change your WEP-Key to WEP-Shared in the control panels of your 2Wire router.
Question: I have a DS Lite and a 2Wire wireless router/modem combo. The router/modem is set to WEP encryption with a custom passphrase. There is just one catch. The DS Lite doesn't accept custom passphrases, only WEP Keys. Since the 2Wire router/modem does not tell you what key it generates based on the passphrase you give it, I tried to replicate the key using WEP key generators online, but I haven't had any success, as the DS Lite wasn't able to connect. Has anyone else had this problem with the 2wire modem and custom passphrases? I honestly don't want to switch back to the factory default key, but if I cant figure this out, it looks like I may have to do that.
Resolution: Since there is no way to recover the key at this point, you have two options:
1. You may generate a new key based on a passphrase, and then use that new key on all of your wireless devices, the Nintendo DS Lite included.
2. You may switch to the default key and use that key with all of your wireless devices, the Nintendo DS Lite included.
Please don't attempt this unless you are wired directly to the router (to prevent yourself from getting disconnected wirelessly from your own router) and keep in mind that all the devices on your network will have to be updated should you decide to change the key.
Question: I’m trying to connect new DSi to internet through AT&T broadband router by 2wire. I am able to access internet through Wii and laptop using WPA2-PSK (AES) using same modem. However, I am unable to connect DSi, either through AOSS or manual setup. AOSS does not detect any access points at all, and manual setup gives error code 051099-1, "No access point in range." The DSi and router are inches apart and still can't detect an access point.
Resolution: I went into my router settings, and changed it to WEP from WPA2-PSK (AES), and it corrected this problem... http://home/ that should get you into your router settings, any other info you need is on the back of the 2wire router. Of course, once this is done, you'll have to re-setup everything... funny thing was, once I got the DSi online, a new "advanced" setting appeared, and allowed me to choose WPA2 as a security setting... not sure if I just missed that the first time or not... In order to play DS games online, WEP security is needed (make sure its set to SHARED instead of OPEN for 2wires). If you want to only use the DSi browser and online store, then, that will work with WPA.
Question: I can connect to the Internet Browser and Shop fine, but when I try to connect to games it doesn't work. I’m using a DSi and Wireless
Resolution: DSi browser, DSi Shop, and DSi games and applications downloaded from the DSi Shop that is Wi-Fi Connection compatible could use either WEP, WPA or no security. Regular DS games can only use WEP or no security.
Question: I am using a 2Wire wireless router with Windows Vista. My Wii finds my router but when I do the connection check I get code 52030.
Resolution: Ensure your router is on channel 1 or 11, make sure your broadcasting in 802.11b/g mixed mode, make sure MAC filtering is disabled, if it’s not then disable it or add your Wii's MAC address to the permission list. If all this fails then you should try setting the connection up manually on the Wii.
Question: Wondering if anyone could help with my dilemma? I have 2 DS Lites trying 2 get connected to wireless. One or the other will connect but not both at the same time. Router shows that they are both in the users list, I have entered both MAC addresses. As long as I only have one on Wi-Fi I’m good too go. Second one just says no connection available. Is there another setting that I'm missing?
Resolution: Now after several hrs of testing the only resolution I have found is in the router settings, is that if I put my WEP settings from "open" to "shared."
